The Faculty of Informatics and Computer Science at the National Technical University of Ukraine "Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute" announces the development of a unique FIOT HUB, a space designed to foster student creativity.
According to the Dean of the Faculty, Serhiy Telenyk, the project will be implemented following the model of a similar hub at one of the world's top technical universities — the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
"Beyond serving as a venue for lectures, competitions, conferences, hackathons, meetups, and more, the hub will feature laboratories where students can work on projects alongside mentors from IT companies, eventually leading to internships and employment opportunities," noted Telenyk.
According to him, the hub is also intended to host research and development projects that are in demand by the IT industry. Furthermore, it will serve as a base for specialized student training involving leading experts from IT companies, the development of student project work, the creation of startups, and the hosting of various events and meetings with IT company representatives focused on career opportunities.
The FIOT HUB is being established with the support of the Rector of Igor Sikorsky KPI, Mykhailo Zgurovsky, and is envisioned as one of the most innovative projects in the country, designed to act as a "magnet" for talented students from Ukraine and abroad. A park will be created around the hub, serving as part of the coworking area and connecting it to other creative development facilities, such as the Robotodrome.
The implementation of the hub is currently in its final stages. A large number of partners have joined the initiative, supporting the FIOT HUB since its inception. As Deputy Dean Olena Khalus explained, all donors will be recognized on a "sponsor wall" and will have the opportunity to host their own scientific events within the hub's premises.
