The Verkhovna Rada has passed bill No. 6241 "On the National Informatization Program" in its entirety, with 286 deputies voting in favor.
According to the bill, digital technologies can be implemented more rapidly in public administration. This will positively impact the performance and efficiency of government agencies.
Thanks to the "National Informatization Program," government agencies and local self-government bodies will be able to communicate, make decisions, and achieve results more quickly. Meanwhile, Ukrainians will be able to receive essential public services much faster.
Furthermore, the bill aims to enhance cybersecurity, which is particularly critical during wartime. Robust cyber defense and countering information threats from Russia are essential for protecting the digital economy and the personal data of Ukrainians.
The bill will also help bridge the digital divide in society by increasing public access to technology and various opportunities, particularly in the economic, social, cultural, and educational sectors.
The law comes into effect on March 1.
